Privacy policy
This policy explains how Pareto CFO collects and uses personal data when you visit paretocfo.io or get in touch with us, and the rights you have over that data.
Who we are
Pareto CFO is a trading name of SA Startup Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14283253), whose registered office is at C/O Aardvark Accounting, 1 Cedar Office Park, Cobham Road, Wimborne, Dorset, England, BH21 7SB. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your data, email david.ralph@paretocfo.io.
What we collect
- When you use our contact form: your name, work email address, phone number (if you give it), whether you are a founder/CEO, investor or other, and anything you write in your message.
- When you email or speak to us: your contact details and the content of our correspondence.
- When you visit the website: our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in server logs used for security and to keep the site running.
We don't use this website to collect special category data, and we ask that you don't include sensitive personal information in your message.
How and why we use it
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and arranging a discovery call | Our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract |
| Following up on a conversation about our services | Our legitimate interests in developing our business with people who have expressed an interest |
| Keeping the website secure and working | Our legitimate interests in operating a secure website |
| Meeting legal, regulatory or professional obligations | Legal obligation |
We don't sell your data and we don't use it for automated decision-making or profiling. We won't add you to a marketing mailing list unless you ask us to, and you can tell us to stop contacting you at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share your data with service providers who help us run our business, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions:
- Formspree, which receives contact-form submissions and forwards them to us by email.
- Google (Google Workspace), which provides our email.
- Netlify, which hosts this website.
We may also share data with our professional advisers, or where required by law or by a regulator.
International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, so that your data stays protected to UK standards.
How long we keep it
If you contact us and we don't go on to work together, we keep your enquiry and related correspondence for up to 24 months from our last contact, then delete it. If you become a client, we keep your data for as long as we work together and afterwards for as long as legal, regulatory and professional requirements oblige us to. Hosting server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or any analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts and images are served from our own site, and we don't embed third-party content that tracks you. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where required.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to us using it;
- ask us to transfer data you have given us to another organisation.
To exercise any of these rights, email david.ralph@paretocfo.io. We'll respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
